DAY 145: She's Home!

Mom arrived home at 4:00 p.m. today! Emily brought her up to the house and they walked in the front door to an atmosphere of pandemonium. Daniel and Charlie beamed, flowers covered the table, Karen stopped by, everybody else will come later, and even the dog couldn't stop wagging her tail and licking her long-lost mother.

The trees bowed down, the mountains tipped their peaks, the wind whistled a song, the clouds made patterns, the rivers slowed up, the birds gathered round, the deer stood watch, the rooster crowed in evening, the mice held hands, the spiders spun messages, the comets soared, and the coyotes howled as our mother came home today.

The stars shine a little brighter tonight. A home long motherless is motherless no more.
